Do I need KYC?
Find what you want to do. The answer is in the middle column.
| I want to | Redbelly KYC | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Off Redbelly mainnet | ||
| Buy, hold or trade RBNT on an exchangeFor example Gate or MEXC | NOT NEEDED | Your coins sit in your exchange account, not in a Redbelly mainnet wallet. The exchange's own account rules apply.S1 S5 |
| Hold, send or swap RBNT on another chainBridged RBNT or wRBNT on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Avalanche, Sonic or Solana | NOT NEEDED | That token lives on the other chain. Redbelly KYC only controls accounts on Redbelly Network.S1 S6 S7 |
| On Redbelly mainnet | ||
| Bridge RBNT onto Redbelly mainnet | NEEDED | Once the coins arrive, every transaction you make with them needs a verified, enabled wallet. Verify first, then bridge.S1 S8 |
| Send, swap or use apps on Redbelly mainnet | NEEDED | Every Redbelly account must hold an access credential before it can send transactions.S1 |
| Bridge RBNT off Redbelly mainnet | NEEDED | The bridge starts with a transaction from your Redbelly wallet.S1 S7 |
| Stake RBNT on Redbelly mainnet | NEEDED | Staking is a transaction on Redbelly mainnet. Node operators must have network access before they can stake.S1 S9 S10 |
UNCONFIRMED DETAIL
Bridging onto Redbelly: Redbelly does not say whether a bridge can deliver coins to a wallet that has not been enabled yet. The answer above stays the same either way, because you need an enabled wallet to move the coins once they arrive. Verify and enable your wallet first, then bridge.

The five common questions
1. Do I need KYC just to hold or buy RBNT?
No. You only need KYC to do things on Redbelly mainnet: send, swap, bridge in or out, stake, or vote in the DAO.
Redbelly Network requires every account to claim an access credential from an accredited issuer before it gets write access to the network.S1 S2 RBNT on an exchange, and bridged RBNT on other chains such as Ethereum or Solana, is not on Redbelly mainnet, so no Redbelly KYC applies.S5 S6 DAO voting also needs a verified, enabled wallet.S13
2. How many wallets can I add to one KYC?
Up to 10. Once 10 wallets are linked to your identity, the portal stops letting you add more.
After your first wallet is enabled, Redbelly Access offers Add another account and Link another wallet to connect more wallets to the same verified identity.S3 At 10 accounts, the Add another account button disappears and the portal shows "Account allocation exhausted."S3 E1 You are accountable for everything a linked wallet does on the network, so only link wallets you control.S3
The limit of 10 is enforced by the Redbelly Access portal itself. Averer's public help centre does not publish a number.S14
3. How long does KYC approval take?
Usually a few minutes. In rare cases it takes a few days.
That is the portal's own wording while your verification is pending: "This could take a few minutes but in some (rare) cases it could take a few days."S3 E2 Press Check verification status to refresh. If it is still pending after a few days, open a ticket with Averer as shown in Part D.
4. Can I join from my country?
The DAO is open to every region. Redbelly Network does not offer its services in 18 jurisdictions. These are two separate rules.
Open to every region
The DAO vote "Remove Geographic Restrictions for General DAO Members" passed on 5 July 2026.S12 Anyone can join the DAO as a general member from any region.
Geographic limits still apply to High Council members and DAO leadership roles.S12
Not offered in 18 jurisdictions
Clause 15.1 of Redbelly's terms lists places where Redbelly does not offer services.S11 Clause 15.2 says people who are tax residents of, or located in, these places are not allowed to access or use Redbelly's website, platform, software and tools.S11
- Afghanistan
- Central African Republic
- North Korea
- Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Guinea-Bissau
- Iran
- Iraq
- Lebanon
- Libya
- Myanmar
- Russia
- Somalia
- South Sudan
- Sudan
- Syria
- Ukraine
- Yemen
- Zimbabwe
The DAO vote changed the DAO's own membership rule. It did not change Redbelly Network's terms. Clauses 15.1 and 15.2 still apply to Redbelly's website and platform, and Redbelly Access is part of that website.
5. Do I need KYC to stake?
Yes. Staking happens on Redbelly mainnet, and only verified, enabled wallets can send transactions there.
Staking is done by calling the deposit function on Redbelly's staking contract, which is a mainnet transaction.S9 Redbelly only gives an account write access after it claims an access credential.S1 Node operators, who must stake 100,000 RBNT, are required to have network access for 2 accounts.S9 S10
Get verified and activate your wallet
You do this once, at access.redbelly.network. Redbelly Access is the official portal. Averer is the accredited issuer that checks your identity. The process covers three things: connecting your wallet, the KYC check, and switching on your wallet's permission on the network.S1 S3 S4 Button names below are written exactly as they appear in the portal.
- A MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet. These are the wallets the portal names.S3
- A valid passport. Verification uses a photo identity document, such as a passport, plus a biometric check.S1 S3
- The wallet address you want to use. The account you connect becomes your public address on Redbelly Network.S3
- No payment. The issuer covers the fees needed to give your account network access.S3
- Check the 18 jurisdictions in question 4. Redbelly's terms do not allow tax residents of, or people located in, those places to use its platform.S11
Steps
- Open the portal and connect your walletGo to access.redbelly.network and press Connect wallet. Approve the connection in your wallet.S3 E3
- If the wallet will not connect, add the network by handPress ADD NETWORK MANUALLY and enter these details in your wallet.S3 S17
Network name Redbelly Network Mainnet RPC URL https://governors.mainnet.redbelly.networkChain ID 151Currency symbol RBNTBlock explorer https://redbelly.routescan.io/ - Start verificationOn the "Get access credential" screen, press Begin identity verification.E3
- Read the notice and continue to AvererThe portal explains that Averer manages the check and that your documents are "not shared with, nor stored on, Redbelly Network". Tick I understand, then press Continue with Averer.E3
- Sign the request in your walletYour wallet asks you to allow Averer to access your public address. Sign it. Access is free, so you are not paying for anything here.E3 E5
- Complete the check with AvererA window titled "Interacting with averer.co" opens. Follow its prompts to submit your passport and complete the biometric check.S1 E3
- Wait for approvalThe screen shows "Identity verification pending". Approval usually takes a few minutes. Press Check verification status to refresh.E2
- Enable your accountWhen you are approved, your account shows "Account status: Not enabled". Press Enable account and sign the transaction in your wallet. The issuer sends the RBNT that pays for this. If the portal says "It seems you haven't received the RBNT yet", wait a few minutes and press RETRY.S3 E3
- DoneYour account shows "Account status: Enabled" and the portal shows "Next steps". This wallet can now send transactions, bridge and stake on Redbelly mainnet.E3
Add another wallet to your verified identity
You do not verify again. Open the portal with a wallet that is already enabled and use the Accounts section. You can link up to 10 wallets in total.S3 E1
Add another account
Press Add another account. In your wallet, switch this site's connection to the address you want to add. Sign the request to link it to your verified identity.E4
Link another wallet
Press Link another wallet. Use the wallet button in the top right corner of the portal to connect the other wallet, then sign the request.E4
Then press Enable account for the new wallet, as in step 8. If the portal says the account "must first be funded with at least" a set amount of RBNT, send that much RBNT to the new address from one of your enabled wallets, then try again.E3
When something goes wrong
Problems with your identity check go to Averer. Problems connecting to the network or enabling your account go to Redbelly Support. That is how the portal splits it.S3 E5
Approval is taking too long
Wait a few days, then open an Averer ticket.
Most checks finish in a few minutes, but the portal says rare cases take a few days.E2 Press Check verification status to refresh. If it is still "Identity verification pending" after a few days, open a ticket (see below).
Verification was rejected or is incomplete
"Incomplete" means retry. "Failed" means contact Averer.
| Screen says | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Identity verification incomplete | Averer "is not yet able to verify your identity. You may need to resubmit some information." | Press Retry identity verification and resubmit. If it keeps happening, open a ticket. |
| Identity verification failed | Averer "was not able to verify your identity." | Open a ticket with Averer. The portal's CONTACT AVERER link goes to averer.co. |

The wallet limit is reached
You cannot add an 11th wallet to the same identity.
At 10 linked accounts the portal shows "Account allocation exhausted." and removes Add another account.E1 No official page describes a way to go past 10, so use one of the 10 wallets you already have. If you see "The address you're trying to add is attached to another account.", that address is already attached elsewhere and cannot be added to yours.E4 If the portal shows a wallet count you do not recognise, contact Redbelly Support, which handles account errors.E5 S18
The wallet will not connect or the account will not enable
Add the network by hand using the details in Part C, step 2. If you see "It seems you haven't received the RBNT yet", wait a few minutes and press RETRY.E3 If it still fails, use Redbelly Support, which points to the Redbelly Discord for help.S18
How to open a support ticket with Averer
- Open Averer's support portalaverer-help.freshdesk.com/support/home. This is the "Contact support" link on averer.co.S14 S16
- Press "Submit a ticket"Or go straight to averer-help.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new.S15
- Fill in the formThe form asks for your full name, email address, a subject, a description of the issue and your Redbelly wallet address. Give the wallet address you used in Redbelly Access and say what the screen shows, for example "Identity verification failed". You can attach files.S15
- Press "Submit"Check the details first. A wrong wallet address makes your ticket harder to match to your verification.
Never put your seed phrase or private key in a ticket, a direct message or a form. The ticket form only asks for your wallet address.S15
